About Me

Dale R. Hersh, Certified Flight Instructor

I’ve been flying for more than 50 years, all over the world, mostly with America Airlines. Now that I’ve retired from airline flying, I am flight instructing mainly out of Scottsdale Airport (KSDL) in beautiful Cirrus SR22Ts. If you’re interested in learning, I have everything you need from your first lesson through your instrument rating. I also have access to an AATD (Advanced Aviation Training Device), which is a simulator that can greatly enhance training.

Already have a license, how about a refresher course to get rid of the rust? Need an IPC and or Flight Review? I can get that done quickly.

If you’re flying a lot with someone who is not rated, I have a “pinch hitter” course to give them a better picture of what’s going on. Even if you just need someone to ride in the right seat to reduce the workload I can help. So feel free to give me a call with any questions.

INSTRUMENT RATING

After receiving your PPL most people take a break from the training and enjoy flying with family and friends or even just by themselves, building hours that can be used to get further ratings or licenses.

IPCs and Flight Reviews

The Federal Aviation Administration not only requires that Instrument rated pilot maintain proficiency to fly in instrument condition, but also mandates that all pilots must have a review by a CFII or other designee every 24 months.

    I have always wanted to learn to fly, but never seemed to be able to find the time. Finally, after my kids were on their own, I found Dale’s school and scheduled a “introductory flight” to see what it was like. He spent about an hour on the ground explaining what was going to happen and then we did just that. It was fantastic. I could tell he was an experienced instructor, and the lessons were great fun.
